(AseanAll)  — On September 16, 2025,the Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste held a grand reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. 

Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste Wang Wenli and Timor-Leste’s President José Ramos-Horta delivered speeches. More than 400 guests attended, including Timorese political leaders and representatives from various sectors, members of the Chinese community, foreign diplomats, and others.

In her speech, Wang Wenli reviewed the great achievements of People’s Republic of China since its founding, especially its economic and social progress this year. She highlighted Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Global Governance Initiative, praised China–Timor-Leste relations, and reaffirmed China’s readiness to work with Timor-Leste to implement the important consensus reached by the two countries’ leaders and to promote the building of an Asian community with a shared future.

José Ramos-Horta congratulated China on the 76th anniversary of its founding, lauded China’s development achievements, and expressed gratitude for China’s support in Timor-Leste’s independence and development. He recalled his state visit to China in July last year, reaffirmed Timor-Leste’s commitment to the One China principle, and pledged to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership and build a Timor-Leste–China community with a shared future.
